What to expect

During a microdermabrasion treatment at INLIV in Calgary, our registered nurse guides the specialized diamond tip lightly across the area. With each pass, the tip exfoliates the skin and simultaneously vacuums up the particles, revealing soft fresh skin.

Typically, you will experience no pain or discomfort during your treatment, though you may feel a light scratching sensation. As the tip continues to move back and forth, some guests advise it feels like a light massage.

When the treatment is complete, a soothing, moisturizing cream is applied to help soothe and replenish the skin. Your skin may appear slightly red or have a sensation similar to a mild sunburn, and our team is happy to apply a light coating of Jane Iredale mineral makeup to help reduce the appearance of redness.

The results from a microdermabrasion treatment at INLIV Calgary are noticeable immediately. Your skin will look fresher, and feel softer and smoother.

Individual results may vary.

How it works

Microdermabrasion resurfaces your skin by gently removing the superficial layer of dead and damaged skin cells, revealing the fresh, radiant skin beneath.

The frequency of microdermabrasion treatments depends on your skin, the condition being addressed, and your exposure to the sun and environmental stresses.

Clients with acne challenges may experience the best results with a microdermabrasion treatment every one to two weeks initially, then reduced to monthly as the skin improves. Other guests enjoy having their skin exfoliated with a microdermabrasion procedure in our Calgary office every month or with the change of each season.

Recommendations will be provided during your personal consultation with the INLIV medical esthetics team.
