Cole has been a professional trainer for over half a decade, and a fitness enthusiast for his entire life. His philosophy focuses on building positive life-long habits, enhancing the well-being of his clients, and empowering them with knowledge, support and inspiration. We sat down with Cole to find out more about his training style, his favourite success stories, and what he does for fun.

Why did you become a personal trainer?

I was in recruitment before becoming a trainer, and it ended up not fitting with my values. In that role I wasn’t able to help the people that truly needed it. I knew that my passion was helping others, and I really wanted to be in the health and wellness industry where I could help affect positive changes in people’s lives. I fell in love with training and have never looked back.

CanFitPro Certified Personal Trainer, DTS Assessment, DTS Programming, DTS Lean Body Coach, DTS Hypertrophy Fundamentals, Agatsu Kettlebell Lv. 1, DTS Powerlifting Lv. 1, DTS Low Back Pain Specialist, Functional Anatomy, CPR.

What is your favourite training movement or exercise?

I don’t have a favorite exercise for clients, as I am continuously assessing a client’s needs and tailoring the exercises in response to that. For myself though, deadlifts are my favorite. There is something very satisfying in picking up really heavy things.

What was your most satisfying training moment or your favourite client success story?

I’ve been blessed to have worked alongside so many amazing clients over the years (like Bev) and been able to be part of their successes that it makes it hard to pinpoint just one. I’ve had clients go through amazing body transformations, losing weight and gaining muscle, yet equally as satisfying is helping take away a client’s chronic pain and getting them back to living their best life.

What are your hobbies outside of physical activity?

In my spare time I write, and manage a small indie comic book company called Low Five Productions. I believe in life-long learning so I am always taking a course or learning a new skill. Physically, I love playing any sport, but lately I have been getting more into hiking and kayaking.

Do you have a personal goal you’re currently working towards?

I’m currently very excited about a couple comic books I have written that are being drawn and printed soon, and I am also working on a novel in my spare time. I always have physical goals that I am working towards in the gym as well.
